Church lock

Forged, filed malleable iron. Copy of a seventeenth-century church lock. Locking mechanism with a lifting bolt enclosed in rectangular and trefoil cases. Auxiliary winding lever system set on a trefoil case. Support plate with opulent filed and grooved openwork. The decorative grille is carved and filed with helix, griffin, and bird’s head motifs. Pierced handles curled into helices. Octagonal key case with a cone finial.
